Refined Motor skills:
An OT will help refine the gross motor skills of children that include walking, jumping and catching a ball. They will help children to improve their coordination level and balance control. An OT will also help refine students' fine motor skills, including wiring, changing clothes, brushing teeth and all the skills required to perform everyday tasks.
Build Self-Esteem and Boost Confidence:
An OT will help children to perform everyday tasks independently, which will help children gain self-esteem and boost their confidence level. Children will become more independent and perform their basic tasks without relying on someone to do them.
Escalate strength and stability:
Strength and stability are two of the core qualities required to execute daily chores. Through our occupational therapy, kids will be able to execute motor activities and navigate more easily. An OT will help children better accept and respond to sensory input, whether it's tolerating different types of clothes, decreasing sensory seeking for improved regulation, or experiencing new food textures.
Improved functional skills:
An OT can target executive functioning abilities such as attention, organizing skills, and memory and sequencing to increase academic achievement and capacity to conduct everyday tasks more autonomously. An OT will help children learn to take turns, share expressions with the social group and help children socialize with their friends.
Learn technology:
An OT can help children with the benefit of utilizing assistive technology and will teach them to utilize it correctly, improving their functional abilities. Learning to work with scissors is one example.
Learning and improving in functionality depends on the capability of the child. Having an OT in school makes it easy for every child to get assessed and help with any skill he is struggling with. It's the right of every child to learn, grow, nurture, and live a life with ease and independence.
